Music Instruction for Adults: Play it Again!
Expand your horizons, meet new people, learn new skills or put polish back on some old skills, and have fun! The Music Academy is committed to helping adults realize their creative potential. Did you know that Verdi composed “Falstaff” at the age of 80?
There is, in fact, a vital relationship between creative expression and quality of life. A recent study by Dr. Gene Cohen at George Washington University reveals strikingly positive differences in the social and physical health of older adults who participate in professionally conducted arts and cultural programs. Adults of any age can enrich their lives through creating beauty with music and sharing that gift with other like-minded adults.

Program Offerings for Adults

Adult Ensemble
Enjoy playing chamber music with a small group of other adults, coached by a member of The Music Academy faculty. This is a fun way to renew and expand your skills. Grouped by instrumentation and skill level, each class meets for one hour a week. Fall classes are 10 weeks and Spring is split into two seven-week sessions. At the end of the session, your group will get a chance to perform in an informal setting. Register Online (NEW!)

Musical Mosaic: Adult Performance & Sharing Circle
Six sessions offered throughout the school year with an artist faculty member. Talk about repertoire, learn more about the composers. Perform for and with one another. Open to all—regardless of instrument played. Tuition: $105.0
