Alex waters is a double bassist originating from Quincy, IL.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in music performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, as well as a Master of Arts from the University of Iowa. Having given lessons for more than five years, Alex has taught double bass to various skill levels and ages. Alex served as the teaching assistant for the University of Iowa double bass studio, where he held individual and group lessons under the guidance of Volkan Orhon.

In addition to teaching, Alex is the former principal bass of the Quincy symphony and has played with Southeast Iowa Symphony, Ottumwa Symphony, and the  Augustana College’s Handel Oratorio Society.
 
Alex is excited to begin his first year at the academy, and looks forward to teaching in the Rockford community.
