Martha (Marti) Frantz

Emerita

Marti Frantz began piano instruction at age five and cello lessons at age ten as a traditional student. She has been a Suzuki cello teacher for 30 years. Marti was introduced to the Suzuki Method in 1980 when she began her sons on violin with one of this country’s earliest Suzuki trained violin teachers. Eleanor Stanlis. Alongside Mrs. Stanlis, Marti established a Suzuki school in 1985 that evolved into a community school of music offering Suzuki piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, harp and flute hiring highly qualified teachers in each area. As director Marti organized and administrated all programs of the school which now also include Prelude: Early Childhood Music Education programs, traditional instrumental and voice programs, and Engaging Encore Talent (creative aging) programs. Maintaining rich an varied music education programs and communicating with parents were high priorities. Marti and husband, Lyle, raised their two sons in Suzuki Talent Education. Marti retired in April of 2022 after 30 years of devoted service to The Music Academy.
