Lauren Hart

Prelude, Music Lab

Lauren Hart studied Music Education at Illinois Wesleyan University, where she majored in voice, minored in harp, and was a piano accompanist. She has taught private voice and piano lessons for the past 16 years, in Illinois and in New York City.

Lauren has a background in traditional piano instruction, including improvisation and accompaniment. She is also a classically trained vocalist with experience in musical theater.  She credits years of lessons with quality voice, piano and harp teachers as giving her inspiration as a music teacher.

She is always looking for ways for students to connect with one another and improve their communities through music. She founded and directs the Belvidere Youth Chorus. She loves to help students to learn good vocal technique and grow in their confidence as a performer. Lauren will be teaching the Music Academy Chorale as well as some early childhood classes at the Ryan Jury Developmental Learning Center this year.
