Over our 27 year history, we have been captivated with the connections between music and medicine and the sciences. The rigorous education we provide prepares aspiring physicians and scientists. Knowing this, many area physicians understand and seek out this kind of training for their children. Among the alumni returning for this celebratory gala are those who have excelled in their fields as surgeons, scientists, researchers and leaders in scientific fields. Alumnus Dr. Anantha Mallia, puts it this way, "Music Academy's gift is teaching its students an understanding of life through an understanding of music – the uncanny ability to teach students valuable life lessons while communicating the beauty of music."
With that in mind, the UIC College of Medicine is providing us with a unique venue in the new and architecturally significant school of pharmacy to showcase the musical ability of current and past students.
$90 per person, or plan ahead and form an "ensemble" of eight for $700. Form your group now!
New Offering! Academy Youth Chorale

New this fall! The Music Academy offers the Academy Youth Chorale on Saturday mornings! Our voices are our natural instruments. We use them to speak, laugh, cry, and sing. Academy Youth Chorale (AYC) gives young singers the experience of discovering and fine tuning their own natural instruments.
In weekly sessions, students grow in confidence as they learn to hear musical intervals and how to shape a phrase and sustain a tone through natural breathing techniques. Academy Youth Chorale members can apply what they learn as singers to the study of any other chosen instrument.
AYC promotes individual self-esteem through fun, stimulating teamwork and setting realistic goals. In Academy Youth Chorale, young musicians discover the enjoyment of working together to create a delightful artistic experience for themselves and their listeners.
Academy Youth Chorale classes meet Saturday mornings during the school year and is open to community students 8 - 12 years of age. No audition is required. Chorale instructors are Libby and Jesse Parker.
